"When I was given the opportunity to start Summerfield House Day Nursery in 1990, I already had five young children and a busy career. I was aware from personal experience that it is difficult to strike a balance between the demands of a full-time career and giving your children the best possible upbringing. The most important thing, in my opinion, was having the best childcare. I used to daydream about how lovely it would be to create a nursery that served as a home away from home. a place where children may study, laugh, and play in a nurturing and friendly environment. Summerfield, where we had lived for the previous ten years and were about to leave, was the best place in the world for young children to grow up. Because of a chance contact I had with Kate Sutherland, who was aware of my objectives, Summerfield House was founded. We have improved the building over time by including heated flooring, air conditioning, and huge outdoor play areas. In addition, we bought the neighbouring land and turned it into a tiny farm that the kids like. We have collaborated with Kate and numerous members of her staff over the years, and we are as as enthused and rigid in our standards now as we were in 1990. I now have three of my own granddaughters enrolled in the Nursery, in addition to the hundreds of children who have grown up at Summerfield House, which makes me smile as I type this. Now that my grandchildren are doing well, I can enjoy running the Nursery and being a grandma ".
