At Loyola Prep, we see each child as an individual but recognise that the majority of boys learn differently to girls, mature at different ages and often have different levels of concentration.
Tailored Teaching
As a result, we tailor the learning environment to ensure that lessons engage and motivate our learners.聽 Practical lessons such as dissecting owl pellets in science, creating animation in computing or solving a 鈥淲ho Dunnit?鈥� in maths, inspire and help to embed learning.
Smaller classes with a full-time teaching assistant and specialist teachers ensure that learning in core subjects is at an optimum in the mornings.聽 With this completed, the afternoons allow for shorter, timetabled practical lessons where the focus is in short bursts, allowing the boys creativity to flow.
Also with the need for movement, lessons are timetabled in different rooms (upper years) and up to 3 PE sessions per week throughout the school, with some year groups also having music & movement, swimming, tennis, badminton & trampolining or sailing.
