Since 1991, the Footprints Family Center has operated on the Buttershaw estate in south-west Bradford to support the neighborhood's residents in creating a sense of community, gaining access to high-quality childcare, locating jobs, eliminating isolation, and forming local collaborations.
When considering factors such as income, employment, education, health & disability, crime, barriers to housing, living conditions, and income affecting children & older people, Buttershaw is recognised as one of England and Wales's five percent most impoverished communities.
For the benefit of In-Communities and Bradford Council, we manage the Bedale Community Center.
The Bedale Centre serves as the headquarters for our Footprints Out of School Care team, which picks up kids from eight nearby primary schools and is open until 6 p.m. every weeknight during the school year. You may also inquire about our Holiday Club here.
With a full calendar of activities, the Bedale Centre is home to a variety of community-led organisations that we are delighted to support in their operations. However, we are always open to new organisations forming and innovative ways to assist the Bedale Community.
So if you're interested in creating a new organisation or have an idea that you'd like some help with, please get in touch with us here.
The Cooperville Centre, our newest structure, features two completely renovated childcare rooms for children ages 2-4.
We also have a community room in the lower level that is available for rental; for more information, click here. This room also offers two free Stay & Play sessions each week for preschoolers.
