As the chair of the governing body of Sherwood Park Primary School, let me firstly introduce myself.
I have a long association with the school, my own children attended many years ago now and following a period of time as a parent governor I have continued to serve on the governing body for many years in a variety of roles.
Together with the entire governing body, I hope to bring an appropriate level of check and challenge to the school in my capacity as an education professional and a veteran serving secondary school Headteacher so that Miss Trayers and her staff can feel confident in our support as they work to raise standards.
The school is going well, and I have faith that the recent successes will be replicated.
I'm convinced that the school will keep fostering each student's development into the extroverted, self-assured person that Sherwood Park is so adept at producing.
You must all be aware that we are there to talk to and will listen to you if you need us.
I enjoy continuing to serve the school and all its stakeholders and welcome on behalf of the Governing Body any feedback or suggestions as to how you would like to see us serve the school and its community.
The full Governing Body meets 6 times a year and is concerned with overseeing the strategic direction of the school, ensuring good financial management and shaping the vision and values of the school.
It is in charge of the staffing, facilities, and finances of the school.
Some governors also have a specific responsibility to act as a link with the school on a key area of interest.
